| Mission Statement: The mission of the Grand Arts Council is to provide the residents of and visitors to Grand County, Colorado with opportunities to experience live theater, visual arts and musical performances in keeping with the culture of the area and to provide artists with a vehicle of expression and support as well as audiences. To that end, we sponsor a wide variety of arts-related events year-round. We also are working to complete the renovation of the Council's 22,000 square-foot Community Cultural Center in Grand Lake. As of this date, the focus has been on finishing the lower level which is targeted to be open for use by the end of 2005. When completed, it will be available for classes, meetings, family reunions, wedding receptions and concerts. Our goal is that the building will serve as a gathering place for both county residents and visitors. Please join us in all of our efforts by becoming a member of the Grand Arts Council and by attending our events and fundraisers. ==============================================
History
The Grand Arts
Council, a 501 (c)(3) organization, was founded in 1990 as the Grand Lake
Area Arts Council. The GAC is dedicated to celebrating the arts in Grand
County. In August of 2003, we adopted a new name, a new logo, and a new
direction. We changed the name to the Grand Arts Council. Our intent was to
expand our programs and our membership base to include all of Grand County.
The Mission of the Grand Arts Council is to provide the residents of and
visitors to Grand County with opportunities to experience live theater,
visual arts, and musical performances in keeping with the culture of the
area and to provide artists with a vehicle of expression and support as well
as audiences. |
